DAILY DEVOTIONAL

We make different plans and hope for the best sometimes it goes the way we want and sometimes it doesn’t. Always God has a plan for us to do even better than we thought we could. He uses the little things to confound us and shows us that even when we feel all hope is gone there is still a solution.
Persistence in the place of prayer is one of the ways we can use to remind ourselves that God is always with us.
Luke 18: 1
Then he spoke to them a parable that men always ought to pray and not to lose heart
The whole of the chapter in Luke talks about being ready to stay in the place of prayer till God answers you. The parable of the persistent widow talks about a widow who wanted justice she kept asking for it till the judge granted her request.
It also talks about praying the right way, prayers are not to ask for materials things but to exhort God with an understanding that you just want to be in the presence of God. God knows what things we are in need of and He will put us in the situation that will bring us into the place where we need to be.
Using the examples of Abraham, David and Joseph, they were all in a different place from where they were meant to shine but God let them go through different situations to bring them to their place of blessings and multiplication. But one thing they also had in common is they were always praying, communicating with God not losing their connection to God.
2 Samuel 7: 18-29 gives an example of how David gave thanks acknowledging God for all He had done for him.
The King David went in and sat before the lord and he said: “who am I oh, Lord God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far?
And yet this was a small thing in Your sight, O Lord God; You have also spoken of Your servant’s house for a great while to come. Is this the manner of man, O Lord God?
One way we can pray is by giving thanks to God for who He is to us. Praying is like talking to a father and a friend. You don’t talk to your father or friend by making demands all the time by asking for this or that but you talk to them because you are just being happy to be in their presence.
“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4). “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)

Talking to God should be done out of love not out of want. Praying to God should be a constant thing that is done out of love. You can pray everywhere you go; there is no rule about where one ought to pray, so we can pray wherever we are, at any time of the day.
Beloved this is a reminder that God is always with us so we should take full advantage of this and talk to Him always. Pray always, there is no limit on the number of times you can call on Him and He wants to take care of all your problems–big and small. Talk to Him, Commune with Him daily. Let Him into your world like you never have before because the truth is, He wants to come down and fight for you and all you have to do is call on Him
Prayer: Lord thank you for the sacrifice which you made on the cross for me. Thank you for this life which you have given me. Thank you for being my father, my guide and my saviour.
